These general terms and conditions of sale (the "Terms") govern the contractual relationship between Zeugma Travel (the "Agency") and the Client for the purchase of tourism services, travel packages, and individual services, in accordance with Italian Legislative Decree 79/2011 (Tourism Code), Legislative Decree 62/2018 (implementing EU Directive 2015/2302), and Legislative Decree 206/2005 (Consumer Code).
1. Definitions
- Agency: Zeugma Travel, VAT no. 18315601007, email info@zeugma-travel.it.
- Client: the consumer or user who purchases or requests to purchase the services.
- Service: any tourism service offered by the Agency (travel packages, tailor-made itineraries, experiences, transfers, guides, accommodation).
- Travel package: a combination of at least two types of tourism services within the meaning of Art. 33 of Legislative Decree 79/2011.
2. Formation of the contract
The contract is concluded when the Agency confirms in writing (by email or signed document) its acceptance of the Client's request and receives payment of the required deposit. Until then, any quote is merely indicative and not binding on the Agency.
The Client must verify the accuracy of all information in the booking confirmation and report any errors within 24 hours of receipt.
3. Prices and payments
Prices quoted are in Euro and include the services expressly listed. Unless otherwise stated in writing, the following are excluded: international flights, travel insurance, gratuities, personal expenses, and entrance fees not specified.
Standard payment terms are:
- Deposit: 30% of the total upon booking confirmation;
- Balance: 60 days before departure.
For bookings made within 60 days of departure, the full amount is due upon confirmation. The Agency reserves the right to adjust prices in the event of documented changes in transport costs, fuel, taxes, or embarkation fees, with prior written notice to the Client.
4. Travel documents
The Client is responsible for holding valid travel documents (passport, visa where required), mandatory vaccinations, and any other entry requirements of the destination countries. The Agency is not liable for damages arising from missing or irregular personal documents.
5. Changes to the contract
The Agency reserves the right to make non-significant changes to the package (e.g., substitution with accommodation of equivalent category, schedule changes) with reasonable prior notice to the Client. For significant changes (change of destination, price increase above 8%), the Client may accept the change or withdraw without penalty within 7 days of notification.
6. Cancellation by the Client
If the Client withdraws, the following penalties apply, calculated on the total package price:
- Up to 60 days before departure: loss of the deposit (30%)
- 59 to 30 days before: 50% of the total
- 29 to 15 days before: 75% of the total
- 14 days or fewer before departure: 100% of the total
Cancellation fees may vary for certain custom itinerary tours; your Zeugma Travel consultant will specify cancellation fees prior to making your reservation.
Penalties do not apply if the cancellation is due to unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances (Art. 41 of Legislative Decree 62/2018). In that case, the Client is entitled to a full refund within 14 days. Travel cancellation insurance is strongly recommended.
7. Cancellation by the Agency
The Agency reserves the right to cancel the package in the event of exceptional and unavoidable circumstances. In such cases, the Client may choose between a substitute package of equivalent value or a full refund of the amounts paid, without further compensation.
8. Agency liability
The Agency is responsible for the performance of all services included in the contract, regardless of whether such services are provided by third-party suppliers. Liability for pecuniary damages is limited to the amounts provided for by the applicable international conventions and, in any event, to three times the package price. The Agency is not liable for damages caused by the Client's own conduct, unforeseeable acts of third parties not involved in the performance, or force majeure.
9. Insurance
Travel packages do not include mandatory insurance against accidents, illness, cancellation, or trip interruption. The Agency offers the Client the possibility of taking out suitable insurance policies. Zeugma Travel holds appropriate professional liability insurance and an insolvency guarantee pursuant to Art. 47 of Legislative Decree 79/2011.
10. Complaints
In the event of a defect in the performance of the services, the Client must promptly report the problem to the local supplier and to the Agency (info@zeugma-travel.it) to allow resolution on site. Written complaints must be received within 30 days of return.
11. Alternative dispute resolution (ADR/ODR)
Consumer Clients have the right to use alternative dispute resolution procedures. For contracts concluded online, the European ODR platform is available: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
12. Applicable law and jurisdiction
The contract is governed by Italian law. For consumer Clients, the competent court is that of the consumer's place of residence or domicile. For non-consumer Clients, the Court of Rome has exclusive jurisdiction.
13. Final provisions
These Terms may be updated. The version in force on the booking date applies to the relevant contract. For any information: info@zeugma-travel.it.
