The story, values, and vision behind Zeugma Travel
We believe in a kind of travel that doesn't consume, but creates. We aim to inspire curious, conscious and respectful travelers through experiences that leave a meaningful impact — both on the places they visit and within themselves.
Who is behind the project
My name is Ilaria, and tourism has always been my world. After an academic path focused on this field — culminating in a thesis on sustainable tourism — I continued to train and work for years in travel planning.
Over time, however, I began to feel that something wasn't right: I often found myself selling empty experiences, copy‑and‑paste packages designed for mass tourism that left nothing behind — neither for travelers nor for the places they visited. Clients rushing from one city to another, collecting photos and checkmarks without ever truly connecting with the soul of the places.
So I decided to change direction.
Today, I want to offer a different way of traveling: more conscious, more authentic, more respectful. A kind of tourism that doesn't just "see" a place, but genuinely wants to discover it — through the people who live it every day.
I'm building a network of realities that share my values — ethical, sustainable, genuine — to create experiences that have a good impact both on those who travel and for those who welcome them.
